During the internment of the stinking corpses of unclaimed bodies, members of the Maricopa County female chain gang are overflown by F16 jets from Luke Air Force Base.
The sound is deafening; pairs of F16 jets roaring in their takeoffs from Luke Air Force Base; the intense sound cannot be ignored. The chain gang turns away from the burial to watch.
The F-16 jets were taking off in pairs every 5 minutes. It turned out that these exercises were occurring just a few days in advance of the U.S. invasion of Iraq, the 2nd gulf war.
Days after these photos were taken, U.S. air strikes began in the so called “Shock and Awe” bombing campaign of Iraq.
